Driving past Sand Island to the airport, you would never guess this is here. Even though it's adjacent to Ke'ehi Lagoon, it's just as easy to miss from that direction. A memorial for WWII veterans, this is also a park, garden, recreational area (basketball hoops, BBQ areas, beach front pavilions), community center (several buildings to rent for your parties), and intimate wedding location. As you drive away from the airport towards town, keep right and off the freeway. This is on Nimitz right before Sand Island Access Road (or after, if you're coming from Honolulu). Limited hours.
